KNOW THE SIGNS. TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS

Imagine, for a moment, falling prey to a zombie bite. Your first response will be to HIDE the wound and deny - to yourself and others - that anything is wrong. No-one wants to fall victim to hasty and bloody pre-emptive action!

This is precisely why it's so important to look out for your friends and loved ones, and check constantly for signs of infection. Follow the 'FEAR' code below and stay on the alert: their life could be in your hands.

Fear

Bullet F is for FINE

When confronted, do they deny that anything is wrong? If they keep telling you they're 'fine', but seem injured, be on your guard.

Bullet E is for EXPOSURE

Could they have been exposed to infection? Have they been on holiday to zombie-themed resorts recently? Have they been consorting with groups defending 'zombie rights'?

Bullet A is for APPETITE

Have their eating habits changed significantly? Look out for: increased appetite for meat (especially pork)/ordering steak 'rare' rather than 'well done'/kissing or nibbling more enthusiastically.

Bullet R is for RUN

If ALL THREE of these symptoms are present, it's time to act. Get hold of some Zombrex and be prepared to defend yourself, or to get the hell out of there if they resist - or if it's already too late.

DIAGNOSIS CHECKLIST

To catch signs of infection as EARLY as possible, we've developed this easy-to-use diagnostic tool. If you're already concerned about someone you know, use the simple Diagnosis Checklist below to test your suspicions. Your quick thinking could save someone you love - and give them back the gift of life.

Tick the box for any symptoms you've seen, then we'll give you the verdict.

REACTIONS: slower/unsteady on their feet?

EYES: are these bloodshot and wild-looking?

CLOTHING AND FASHION: do they look like they've let themselves go a bit? Clothes torn or unwashed? Color clashes? Hair unkempt and lifeless?

OFF-COLOR: any greenish tinge to the skin? Any signs of

OPEN WOUNDS being hidden? Bandages or clothing items worn constantly?

GROANING: do they respond with dull grunts or moans to everything you say?
